Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Emergency Department Nurse Director will lead an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals within our ED with approximately 27,000 annual visits, with an increase in summer-seasonal patient census. As a key leader, the ED Nurse Director will be responsible for organizing, planning and controlling the daily operations of the department, and will partner with the ED Medical Director to optimize patient flow, care, safety and quality, and the patient experience. The Emergency Department Nurse Director is responsible for all ED nursing and ancillary staff, transporters and also serves as the Stroke Coordinator for the hospital. The Emergency Department Nurse Director will also assume fiscal responsibility along with organizing and implementing contemporary staff development programs/training based on ED reported data/interpretation which will be used to drive change. The right candidate will display strong leadership skills while supporting and implementing nursing shared leadership. BSN required although a Master’s Degree or MBA is preferred. Certification preferred. BLS, ACLS required. RI RN licensure required.
